Session One: Welcomed Not Tolerated
This gathering will help us understand neurodivergence in families and the many ways God’s image appears in minds, temperaments, and ways of processing the world. God’s image cannot be standardized, and when we honor difference, we honor the God who created difference.
Why Everyone Should Attend the Neurodivergence Sessions:
- Community Stewardship — Attending is an act of care for our whole church family; it strengthens our ability to support one another.
- Reducing Misunderstanding — Learning reduces assumptions, frustration, and misinterpretation of behaviors we may not understand.
- Creating Safer Spaces — We become better equipped to create environments where every person feels welcomed, not merely tolerated.
- Personal Growth — These insights help us grow in empathy, patience, and emotional intelligence—skills that strengthen every relationship we have.
- Supporting Our Teachers — Attending is a way to honor and support the members of our congregation who have prepared these sessions for us.
