Philosophy:
We
believe, at Great Expectations Child Care Center, the most
important aspect of any education is to prepare a child to
be ready for eternity by having an intimate, personal relations
with Jesus Christ.
We
also believe that self-esteem is the critical component to
optimal growth in young children. Children at Great Expectations
Christian Learning Institute are given the opportunity to
explore, experiment, and create in a warm, nurturing Christian
environment that developmentally meets the needs of the 'whole'
child.
We recognize the uniqueness of each child and will encourage
children to develop their capabilities and interest at their
own pace and according to their individual needs.
Goals:
1) Promote spiritual development by helping
students see their uniqueness and learn to live
in responsive obedience to God.
2) To encourage social development by
providing opportunities for sharing, making
friends, solving problems, and recognizing and
accepting others.
3) To foster emotional development through
expressions of thoughts and feelings taking
responsibility for one's own actions and
exercising appropriate independence.
4) To enhance the physical development of
large and fine motor skills through the use of
manipulative toys, games, and activities.
5) To facilitate intellectual development by
widening the child's language and creative
experience in order to increase knowledge,
basic concepts, and skills.
